SMB Electric Pte Ltd was subsequently incorporated to manage all switchgear-related business and privatised after the acquisition of its parent company by Osaki Electric Co., Ltd in 2012. The Company was eventually acquired by Fuji Electric Co., Ltd in end-2014 and renamed as Fuji SMBE Pte Ltd. Today, Fuji SMBE remains the leader and specialist in electrical power distribution systems.
Over the years, Fuji SMBE has grown from strength to strength in both size and revenue. The Company now has 3 fully-equipped plants in Singapore, as well several offices and manufacturing facilities in overseas markets in Malaysia, Australia, Indonesia, and Thailand. These overseas subsidiaries manufacture and assemble switchgear to service the demands of their respective local markets.

Verification Tests
Fuji SMBE’s switchboards have been verified according to the latest IEC standards (IEC 61439-1, -2) and attained ASTA Type Test certificates which are verified by Intertek, accredited certification body and witnessed by ASTA observers. The ASTA Type Test certifications ensure that the switchboards demonstrate compliance with mandatory product standard and provide end-users with confidence in the safe operation of the switchboards. ASTA certificates are globally recognised and are issued after completion of compliance verification tests at ASTA recognised independent testing laboratories.
An ASTA certificate is the sole document that is verified and issued by an independent National Certification Body. The certificate is an Intellectual Property (IP) by itself and stamped with a seal and bound to prevent counterfeit copies and to ascertain that the integrity of the verification is not compromised. Switchboards that were ASTA certified enjoy product and service differentiation from the rest of competition that was not certified for their safety and reliability. ISO Certification
Fuji SMBE Technology Pte Ltd has achieved the ISO 9001, ISO 45001, and ISO 14001 certifications which govern a set of standardised requirements for quality management system and environmental management system respectively.
STAS Pre-fab MEP MAS
In line with the Singapore Government’s push toward pre-fabrication, Fuji SMBE introduced containerised pre-fabricated switchboard solutions which are modular and cost-effective. Leveraging on this trend, Fuji SMBE Technology Pte Ltd in 2023 attained the Certificate of Accreditation by the Specialists Trade Alliance of Singapore (STAS) for Pre-fabricated Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing (MEP) Manufacturer Accreditation Scheme (MAS) under the Plant Module Category Tier 1 with the production of the next-gen M-Cube 2 switchboards.
This accreditation validates the manufacturing processes of Fuji SMBE Technology Pte Ltd to produce high quality pre-fab MEP modules and systems, and recognises it’s high standards of quality processes and capabilities. Along with the ISO certification, this scheme ensures quality assurance and control in the design, production and installation of pre-fab MEP Modules.
The Company was evaluated based on strict criteria such as staff competency, Prefab MEP plant / factory capabilities, quality assurance & quality control in Production, storage, protection & delivery, workplace safety and digitalisation.
bizSAFE
bizSAFE is a programme which assists companies to build up their workplace safety and health (WSH) capabilities in order to achieve higher safety and health standards at the workplace. In the process, participating companies gain the benefits and recognition of having a comprehensive WSH system in place. Fuji SMBE believes in the importance and benefits of safety in workplaces. At present, Fuji SMBE Industries Pte Ltd is the only subsidiary that has achieved the bizSAFE STAR, the fifth and highest level of the certification. All the other subsidiaries under Fuji SMBE have achieved the BizSAFE Level 3 certification with successful implementation of Risk Management plans. Certified as a SGBC member, Fuji SMBE is recognised for its affiliation with the global green building movement (World Green Building Council) and commitment to the Singapore Green Building journey. Fuji SMBE achieved the Green Mark product certification for Switchgear.
In 2024, Fuji SMBE has been awarded the Green Mark 4 out of 4 ticks for all our range of LV switchgear, becoming the leading switchboard manufacturer in Singapore to attain the SGBC LEADER status. The points are then used in the Green Mark Assessment section to help building owners to achieve additional value in acquiring the various tiers of the Green Building Award. The higher a product is rated under the SGBP Scheme (eg, the more ticks it has achieved), the more points are awarded towards the Green Mark rating.
